Clear aligners

A series of removable, transparent trays that gradually move teeth, as an alternative to fixed braces for suitable cases.

Who it is for

Teenagers and adults with crowding, spacing or bite problems who can wear trays for about 22 hours a day.

What happens during treatment

  1. Records: photos, X-rays and a digital scan of your teeth.
  2. A treatment plan shows the planned tooth movement and number of trays.
  3. You change trays every one to two weeks, with check-ups every six to eight weeks.
  4. Retainers are provided at the end to hold teeth in position.

Aftercare

  • Remove trays to eat and drink anything other than water; brush before putting them back.
  • Wear retainers as advised; teeth can move back without them.
